Old guitar

The other day, going through some photos in a large box of the old type of photos that used to be on paper/stuff and were stored in that way (non-USB memory box, size? unlimited, because you can always get another box ) I found some of my room from back in the 80s. In those there was this one shot of my most played guitar at the time, a Thinline Telecaster with one Humbucker at the bridge.my old teleIt was like new when I got it but, it slowly morphed into something like that new Joe Strummer Relic Tele that Fender finally decided to make (Neat thing and many thanks to them for doing it). Funny though, at that time, I did not feel like I was making anything really. It just happened and slowly. I did not like the original color [some sanding / paint], wanted to represent some bands I was listening to at some point(s)[stencil / spray paint], lower edge of pick guard lost a screw or two [duct tape], decided I did not like new color [pile on more paint or more sanding and more paint], etc. etc. Hey sounds a lot like the description of Joe’s guitar. Funny, but back then everyone’s guitar looked like that, or the folks I looked up to were doing theirs that way anyway, and a bunch of friends as well.Being a dumb kid, of course I let that guitar go, in the late 80s, along with a few other guitars I am still kicking myself for. But we live and learn.Check back here soon to see something that will sort of replace this old baby, but with much more class (and this one will never see Duct tape, or get near a spray can).
